I had my wisdom tooth extracted yesterday, on the second day of the year. It was the easiest tooth extraction I've ever had and that's quite impressive considering that it's a wisdom tooth. I've heard stories from friends saying that they had to go through surgical operation; their dentist cutting through the gums and pulling out theirteeth; stories about the suffering one had to go through with swollen face because of a swollen gum and how one has to rest for a good couple of days. Well, those were my expectations. I could not be happier that my dentist failed in meeting them.
As usual the staff were nice and the dentist, he's a new one for me, was also very nice. The dental aide already knew who I was and my behavior on the dentist chair so obviously knows how to pacify me. As always, the anesthetic was the most difficult one more than the extraction because I get to feel a bit of sting from the needle. He needed to push the teeth to one side, and then in less than 5 seconds after pushing it, the tooth was out. Really? I asked when he said that it was all done. I couldn't believe it but I cannot not believe because he showed me my tooth. I had a bit of chat with the receptionist after that when I was paying and it made me really happy that she (her name is Joy) said that she's looking forward to see me outside of the clinic. Hurray to new friends on a new year.
Still trying to understand how that procedure took no more than 10 mins, I went around and walked in the shopping center. I ended up buying 8 pieces of clothes hanger from Ikea and then watching Frozen, which is long overdue. I also went to Westfield in Hornsby and shopped some more from Rebel before heading home.
This new year truly promises a lot of new things particularly new perspective of old beliefs. That dental appointment was rightly scheduled on the second day of the year to show me that there are things in life, no matter how difficult according to popular belief and experience, that can be easy. It doesn't always have to what other people say. Sometimes, life will surprise you by giving you a different lot, by making it unique for you. There's probably a lot of explanation why that extraction was very easy and simple but more than that, it was the wisdom that comes with it that is important.
P.S. NPS for Trinity Dental - 10; RSAT - 10; FCR - 10. I am so going to recommend this clinic.
